The course contains the following modules:
Key Stage Electrical Course This 5-day module of the course is specially geared towards those who wish to become Electrical Installers, but have little or no existing experience. It will provide you with:
- The knowledge and additional skills needed to reach the required level of competence.
- The essential training and knowledge prior to undertaking the Domestic Electrician Course.
City & Guilds 2393 - Level 3 Certificate in the Building Regulations for electrical installations in a dwelling (2393-10) (Known as - Part P Qualification) It is crucial that all domestic electrical installations meet Building Regulations and industry standards. As such, those performing professional work need to ensure that they are competent to do so by having a good understanding and working knowledge of Part P of the Building Regulations.
During this course module, our trainers will teach you the basics of what you can and cannot do in a domestic dwelling as far as electrical installations and building regulations are concerned. By passing this City & Guilds 2393 course, you will have demonstrated your knowledge and competency in carrying out domestic electrical work. The duration of this particular module is 2 days.
City & Guilds 2382 - 17th Edition Wiring Regulations 2008 The 17th Edition Wiring Regulations 2008 consists of hundreds of rules and regulations and is a required qualification to join any Government approved Part P Competent Installer scheme. This part of the course lasts 3 days and is focused on:
- Showing you how to navigate your way round the book in preparation for the 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations 2008 City and Guilds 2382-12 exam.
- Providing you with the information necessary to pass the exam successfully.
- Introducing you to the On Site Guide - which is a far more user friendly compact guide to the full version of the regulations. You will find that, in a professional environment, you will typically refer to the On Site Guide in most scenarios.
City & Guilds 2392 - Level 2 Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification The goal of this 5-day course module is to show you how to correctly test & inspect your installed circuits to ensure they are safe and meet regulations. Besides providing you with the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to join a Government approved Part P competent scheme, this course will also teach you the following:
- How to successfully carry out a variety of dead tests using a 17th Edition Multifunction tester. (These tests allow you to prove it is safe to turn the power on and that the circuit is installed correctly and without faults)
- Proper execution of live tests
- How to complete the associated paperwork, such as Schedules of Tests, with the values you have obtained during your dead and live tests.
