Who is this course for: This Course is to practice your knowledge and skills under close supervision with an instructor who has that valuable on site experience.

Course Information

This course has been specifically designed to allow you to put into practice everything you have learnt over previous courses. It will also allow you to learn and then put into practice all the practical skills required to carry out electrical installations on site, and most importantly, give you the DIY skills that are vital in allowing you to complete your job. This is what sets us apart from all other centres - we give you real life skills for a real life career.

On this course you will be put into real life scenarios and guided through every aspect of your job, including how to set yourself up on site, basic health and safety procedures, quoting tips, planning tasks, installing circuits. We will also teach you all the practical DIY skills that are imperative to enable you to complete your work.

Course Content:

Carry out supervised installation work to include:

Sockets
You will design, plan and install socket circuits for inside and outside scenarios

Lights
You will design, plan and install lighting circuits for inside and outside scenarios

Down lighters (spot lights)
Not only will you install very popular down lighters, but you will also learn how to plan the position of the lights and the practical skills needed to install your down lighters

Cooker and Shower Circuits
You will design, plan and install either a cooker or shower circuit

Smoke alarms
You know the theory; now actually install smoke alarms as per the regulations

Extractor fans
Ever wondered how these things work, we will show you how to install them correctly

Earthing and Bonding
Carry out correct installation, including selecting the correct cables as per the regulations

Trunking and Conduit
Learn how to install this cable protection system correctly

Testing, inspecting and certification of circuits
Now that you have installed your circuits, you can inspect, test and certify that your installation complies with the Building and wiring regulations.

Consumer Unit changes
Another favourite, this is a large undertaking with far more considerations that you may realise, let us take you through the process step by step with first class practical guidance along the way

Correct use of tools and equipment
We will show you how to use your tools correctly, and show you a whole array of other tools required to carry out you work correctly.
