Who is this course for: This Part P training course is suitable for those wishing to undertake domestic electrical installation work, either for themselves or any person wanting to be a Domestic Electrical Installer.
Part P Course Information
(2393-10) (Known as - Part P Qualification) As of January 1st 2005, any person wishing to carry out electrical installations in a domestic dwelling must be competent to do so. This Part P qualification has been designed to help you meet that requirement and therefore prepare you along with City & Guilds 2392 (Testing and Inspecting) and City & Guilds 2382 (17th Edition Wiring Regulations) to join Competent Persons Schemes such as NAPIT, NICEIC, or ELECSA.
This course will deliver the requirements of the Building Regulations along with other knowledge required to help you along your journey in becoming a Domestic Installer / Domestic Electrician. This particular Part P Course goes beyond what is required to just past an exam. We will give you valuable skills and knowledge to aid you in your everyday work.
Part P Training Course includes:
- Applicable Building Regulations
To be able to undertake any electrical work in a domestic dwelling you will require an in depth knowledge of the Building Regulations, we will take you through step by step and relate each part to everyday life to aid in your learning process
- Electrical Safety legislation
Along with the Building Regulations, there is much other legislation that you need to be aware of to ensure compliance with government legislation.
- Safe isolation procedures
In order to ensure you and everyone in the vicinity are safe during you electrical work, you must have knowledge and experience of how to correctly and safely isolate the electricity supply to your works.
- Earthing arrangements and bonding requirements
Each domestic electrical system needs to be effectively earthed and bonded in order to reduce the risk of electric shock. It is imperative that you understand all the requirements of this subject
- Requirements regarding Special Locations
There are certain areas and installations with the home that require extra precautions, we will guide you through these and explain the requirements for each, and relate them to the Building Regulations.
- Cable and circuit calculations
To be able to install electrical circuits you will need to understand some basic calculations, let us guide you through these tasks
At the end of this Part P Training Course you will undertake an open book, on-line exam to in order to gain your Part P Qualification.
