How can I pay for my course? We accept cheques, all major credit and debit cards, and internet bank transfers, Bacs and Chaps. To view a detailed guide to booking and paying for your course, please click here. When will I have to pay for the course? A deposit is payable to secure a place on a course. The balance is payable 14 days before the start of the course. What happens after I have paid a deposit? Once you have paid your deposit, your place will immediately be secured on your chosen date. A confirmation letter will be sent out to you by post or email, usually the same day. Are there any hidden costs? All our prices include VAT, and where applicable, exam fees. The only additional costs would be for the books you require for a qualification course. Must I do all my training consecutively or can I split it up? We understand that not everyone is able to train for 15 or even 20 Days in succession due to either work commitments or financial pressures. Therefore both the 15 Day Domestic Electrician Course and 20 Day Domestic Electrician Package with Experience Week can be booked in 5 day blocks and spread over any amount of time. To find out more about splitting up your training and the associated payment arrangements, please click here. Will I need to supply my own tools? No, all relevant tools and materials will be provided whilst you are completing your course. What time do the courses start and end? Monday to Friday 9.00 A.M. start and usually about 4.00 P.M. finish but this can vary. Do you have parking spaces available? We have ample free car parking spaces available right outside our doors! Is lunch provided? No but there is a fantastic café close by which sells anything from snacks to a full blown lunch. Can I do your course with no previous experience? Our Key Stage course was developed specifically for people with little or no previous experience. Our electrical qualification courses will require you to have some previous experience. Where can I purchase books for my electrical course? We have highlighted links to the IET website on each of the course pages of this site so you can get the right books at a very competitive price. Do I receive a qualification? All of our electrical courses are qualification courses with the exception of our Key Stage Experience Week courses. Do your courses lead to recognised qualifications? Yes all of our courses are certified and lead to recognised qualifications. Does it take a long time to get your exam results? You will know on the day if you have passed your assessments and Exams/Tests. From there it takes about three weeks for your certificates to arrive. What is the typical pass rate for your students? At Electrical Training 4U, we are proud to be able to boast excellent pass rates for our students. Currently, as an average, we have a pass rate of 99% and we attribute this to our excellent facilities and high standard of personalised training. Why is our Part P Course only 2 days long, while other training providers take 5 days? We are aware that some Electrical Training Centres are currently offering the City and Guilds 2393 over 5 days and charging you, the customer, additional money for obtaining the same qualification we are giving you over 2 days. Click here to find out more about this. Can I leave my course early if I have an appointment? If you choose to arrive late or leave early you will undoubtedly miss parts of the training as the courses are run to schedule. The instructors will of course do their best to enable you to catch up on what you have missed, but this may not always be possible. Can I come and see your training facilities? We always welcome potential customers and are delighted to give tours of our facilities. I know a lot about electrics already, can I do installations myself without attending electrical training courses? Probably not, it's very doubtful if you know enough to be a competent person without any formal electrical training. Plus it is now a criminal offence punishable by a £5000 fine if a non competent person installs electrics in a home that doesn't comply to Part P Building Regulations. Your installations must conform to the new Part P Building Regulations. What is Part P? From January 2005 electrical installation work in dwellings became subject to 'New Building Regulations Part P', enforced by local Building Control Authorities. Failure to comply with regulations is a criminal offence. This requirement includes all installations whether professional or DIY. You can find out more about our Part P Training services on the courses region of this website. I need to do electrical installations, what are my options to comply with Part P regulations? 1) Self certification - registering as a competent person under the DISQ Domestic Installer's Qualification Scheme. 2) Notification - Notifying Building Control in advance of work to be undertaken so they can inspect the work, which must comply with BS 7671 (17th Edition) and Part P regulations. Who do I register with after I have qualified? After you have qualified from our Domestic Electrician Course you need to apply for membership on one of five national competency schemes such as, Napit, Niceic, Elecsa, Eca, Bsi.
If you would like to talk further with us about one of our electrician training courses or find out more about what we can offer you in the field of electrical training, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of our team on 01444 871113.
